Maker-Based Instruction Workshops

WHAT IS AN INTRODUCTION TO MAKER-BASED INSTRUCTION?

MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR MAKERSPACE THROUGH MAKER-BASED INSTRUCTION

Have a makerspace? Want one? Have a 3D printer gathering dust? Want to see students designing and making objects that solve real world problems? Want to make the most of your investment in Maker Education? Learn how to leverage makerspaces and the tools and materials of the Maker Movement to create transformational learning experiences for students both in makerspaces and in traditional classrooms. This workshop will help support the academic integration of the maker education movement in K12 schools in a sustainable way that creates lasting change.

INTENDED OUTCOMES

During the Introduction to Maker-Based Instruction Workshop, participants will learn a new framework for teaching and learning using the tools, technology and materials of the Maker Movement.

Participants will leave the workshop with lessons, activities and techniques to adopt and adapt in their classrooms.

Participants will leave these experiences with more confidence in their creative abilities and knowledge of the skills and mindsets needed to be problem-solvers of tomorrow.
