FALL TERM
Breakaway: Intro to
Design Thinking for Teachers
In this professional development workshop (3 sessions over 3 months) you will learn-by-doing, the human centered design process, practice, and develop innovation mindsets aimed at creating engaging (student-led) learning experiences. Leave with a set of tools to help you collaborate and unleash creativity with your peers, connect with and reach your students, and feel inspired to design learning experiences that capture their hearts and minds!
spring term
Build a Custom Plan for Equitable Deeper Learning
After completing the Breakaway workshop, a Construct coach will help your team identify gaps and opportunities to engage more students in deeper learning. Then we will co-create a 90 day Hack-Action-Plan for your spring term.
Execute Plan
Once we have co-created the Hack-Action-Plan we will help you develop a personalized playbook with design tools and strategies that let you flip your classroom, inspire creativity and collaboration among your students, igniting new confidence and passion for learning.
summer
Curriculum Design Camp
As culture shift start to take place at your school, Construct will help you produce a virtual Deeper Learning Showcase comprised of video, audio, photo, and written assets. Once your colleagues are thinking like designers, building and iterating on student-led learning experiences, we will help you plan and then produce a showcase that celebrates your schools success.
This is a 2 day workshop in August. With your team, collaborate and create new interdisciplinary, PBL units for the school year. You will leave this worksop with a process for creating design inspired curriculum that aligns with Common Core Standards and and NGSS. You will also develop strategies for facilitating student-led learning experiences.
Year 2 and Beyond
Monthly Meet-Ups
We curate virtual meet-up sessions around a problem of practice each year. This is an opportunity to convene with other innovative educators and use the design process to tackle common constraints that prevent deeper learning from happening.

Once you and your colleagues are thinking like designers, building and iterating on student-led learning experiences, we will help you plan and then produce a showcase that celebrates your schools success.
Access Challenge Grants and Innovation Grants
Join a Construct Change-maker competition, teachers receive a stipend while they learn how to run an industry supported design challenges with their students (learn more)
LeapFrog Innovation Grants are available for educators in the Construct network (learn more)
